Analysis of Annual Audited Report for Boeing Corporation - Assignment Example Over its eventful history, the company has been responsible for a number of innovations like the Boeing B-1, B-8 and Monomail, Model C, Boeing 80 and the 737. Boeing earned a profit of $4.018 billion for the year ended December 30, 2011 and had total assets of $79.986 billion on the same date. Since 2005, the companyââ¬â¢s Chairman, President and CEO have been W. James McNerney Jr. The company has a total of 164,545 employees worldwide and the top 1.5 % of them go through the Technical Fellowship program, which sets the technical direction for the company. We will now move on to the analysis of Boeingââ¬â¢s financial statements as given in their Audited Annual Reports for 2011. Their accounts have been audited by Deloitte & Touche LLP, one of the Big Four accounting firms in the world. The report is unqualified and this means that Boeing Company has met the financial standards for record keeping and presentation as required by the FASB and other relevant authorities. Analysis o f Net Income and Cash Flows According to the financial statements for the year ended 30 December 2011, Boeing has reported net income from sales of products and services for fiscal year 2011 of $ 4.018 billion. According to their Consolidated Statement of Cash Flows, cash provided from operating activities for 2011 was $5.844 billion (Boeing Annual Report 2011, 55). The difference between the two numbers can be explained on the basis of accrual accounting principles where revenue is recognized when it is earned and expenses are recognized when they are incurred (Porter & Curtis, 2013). Meigs, Meigs and Meigs further distinguish the importance of assessing operating activities through the measure of operating cash flow. Using accrual-based net earnings can lead to ambiguous performance indications, unless a company can convert its revenues/profits into cash (Meigs et al., 1995). Thus from a comparison of Boeingââ¬â¢s net earnings and net cash from operating activities in 2011, it can be concluded that the company is effectively converting their profits into cash. Ratio of Net Income to Net Revenue Looking further at the Consolidated Statement of Earnings, the following figures give a comparison of Boeingââ¬â¢s Net earnings to Net sales for the three years ending in December 2009, 2010 and 2011 respectively. That said, the numbers in the above table are indicative of a fairly efficient business. While Boeingââ¬â¢s net sales had decreased from $68 billion in 2009 to $64 billion in 2010, yet the company managed to increase its net earnings from $1.3 billion to $3.3 bi llion over 2009-2010. The Women's Movement Works Cited Missing The womenââ¬â¢s movement began in the nineteenth century when groups of women began to speak out against the feeling of separation, inequality, and limits that seemed to be placed on women because of their sex (Debois 18). By combining two aspects of the past, ante-bellum reform politics and the anti-slavery movement, women were able to gain knowledge of leadership on how to deal with the Womenââ¬â¢s Right Movement and with this knowledge led the way to transform womenââ¬â¢s social standing (Dubois 23). Similarly, the movement that made the largest impact on American societies of the 1960ââ¬â¢s and 1970ââ¬â¢s was the Civil Right Movement, which in turn affected the womenââ¬â¢s movement (Freeman 513). According to informant Betsie Cole, at age forty-six and an instructor at East Tennessee State University, the womenââ¬â¢s movement made a large impact on her life growing up and she is still able to see the changes that the womenââ¬â¢s movement has made in societ y. Cole states that women did not have to be directly involved in the twentieth century womenââ¬â¢s movement to feel and notice the impact it had on society. Cole, for example, notes that even though she wasnââ¬â¢t in an organization to help support the womenââ¬â¢s movement until she was in college, it still made an impact on her during her high school years. "The modern movement was just getting into gear when I was in high school and that was my formative years. That thinking about- well, what is a womenââ¬â¢s role? What am I supposed to be after high school?" stated Cole. Cole considers this era a period of questioning mainly because college was considered a choice at the time when she was graduating high school. College is not presented as a choice for women, but rather a choice for both sexes, right along with choosing a career and working. Granted that men do have more benefits with pay and support, but now women are not looked down on for going to college. Striving for equal rights and opportunities is still a major issue for women and probably will be for years to come. Cole summed it up best by saying, "I still believe that one person can change the world!"

The story ends with the girl, Osen, being wrongfully accused of having an affair with the master of the house, at which she volunteers to work. Osen responds to the accusation by planning to actually have an affair with the man. The two make arrangements to have sex, but just before they can, Osenââ¬â¢s husband catches them in the act. Osen kills herself, and the man flees the house naked and frightened, but is later executed as well. Knowledge and intelligence are specific characteristic traits that can lead us to experiencing professional success. Suppose a child scores within the 135-140 range on an IQ test. People would assume that child will become successful in life based on their high IQ score. The question is, how are certain people able to succeed in life while others tend to struggle? Is it solely based off their intelligence or IQ? Opportunities? Race and culture? The rebuttal will give emphasis on the claims young earth creationist have on the earthââ¬â¢s existence period. Additionally, address old earth and young earth theories. Finally identify any fallacies in the argument. For centuries creation theorists have given emphasis to Noahââ¬â¢s flood as enough evidence to a universal deluge. The people could have descended from the ark inhabitants, but scientist lack evidence on the animals descending from the ark. Finding the ark does not give evidence of the ancestry of all creatures.
